Delete your account & data

Last updated: 15 September 2026

You can permanently delete your Sojourn account and associated data. There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, or by sending us a request.

What gets deleted. Your account and database records — including check-ins, photo metadata, and import history — are deleted immediately. Stored photo bytes are queued for deletion from private storage and retried if cleanup needs another attempt. This cannot be undone. Residual copies may remain briefly in routine encrypted backups before they are rotated out, typically within about 60 days.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Sojourn and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

That single action deletes your account and its check-ins, photo metadata, and import records from our database, wipes the local copy on your device, and signs you out. Stored photo bytes are then queued for deletion from private storage; cleanup is retried if needed.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't open the app — for example, you've lost the device — email us and we'll delete your account for you.

Send an email to support@sojourn.chaze.net from the email address linked to your Google sign-in, with the subject “Delete my Sojourn account.”

Email a deletion request

We use the email address you send from to confirm you own the account (it must match your Sign in with Google address). We'll confirm once your account and all associated data have been deleted, and we aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
